If you’re serious about retouching…
…then I suggest you buy this. My pal and photographer extrordinaire Nick Saglimbeni has chosen to let everyone in the bad-ass retouchers club. If you’ve ever wondered how to get your work to look like magazines, here it is. Mastering Retouching is the name of the DVD series and digital download available at Mastering Retouching.com In addition to this being the coolest retouching course I’ve ever seen, there’s also a personal reason why I am supporting it. I was a beta-tester during it’s creation, and some of the photography, ideas and elements that went into the design and flow of the tutorials is directly from my contribution to the series. So when you see it, there’s a little bit of me in there!
If you’ve ever bought a piece of equipment for your skill as a photographer (such as a lens or a light), then this is something that belongs in your bag of tricks as well (if your a beauty photographer). The skills taught aren’t difficult, but do take some getting used to (like maybe two or three days). Nick’s teaching is easy to follow, and you don’t feel like you’re learning from some geek who bores you more than anything. He’s easy to listen to throughout the 6-hour plus training disks. There’s also a forum, where we, along with other customers who have bought the series are there to help out with any questions, and offer our critiques of your work. Just head over to slickforce.com and click on the Forums to register and chat.
If you’re unfamiliar with Nick’s work, you can get an eye-full at the same website. I’ll let it do the talking for me. Also, if you’re heading out to Photoshop World in Orlando in March, you can meet Nick and myself at the Mastering Retouching booth there. We’d love to see any of the forum members drop by and say hello. Cheers!
